Sexual Health
and Relationship Education with Dee
Hello! My name is Dee and I am a Certified Sexual Health Educator. I trained and certified in 2018 through Options for Sexual Health, after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2014. I have also worked as a Youth Care Counsellor in elementary, secondary and secondary alternate schools for over a decade.
I offer a Sexual Health and Relationship course that fulfills all of the BC Ministry of Education provincial learning standards for teaching sexual health. Lessons are offered at elementary schools, secondary schools, alternate schools, youth clinics, group homes and parenting groups. Each lesson contains vital knowledge about sex and relationships, encourages critical thinking and develops practical skills necessary for navigating today’s world. Each participant in the lessons will leave with tools, resources and knowledge regarding their sexual health.
Sexual Health and Relationship Education is a science-based, nonjudgmental, inclusive, supportive and empathetic learning space. The course was developed for students in the alternate school system due to its trauma-informed approach. It is a great resource for any mainstream schools, non-profit agencies, and private groups as well.
“We are so grateful for Dee! Students love her warmth, accessibility and knowledge. She covers material in an engaging, informative way and can respond to any question that's thrown at her. A huge asset to any classroom.”

“Dee used humour and visual cues to explain her knowledge base and connect with the youth. She was able to captivate a difficult audience and educate difficult material.”
-Amy Mitchell
Program Manager
Cedar Walk Alternate Secondary School
“Ms. Stacey presented as relaxed, confident and knowledgeable. Her presence put students at ease and encouraged participation. She displayed very strong cultural awareness and was relatable to the age group (16-19). She was open and responsive to questions and concerns, always responding appropriately and non-judgmentally. Her teaching style was clear and direct and easy to understand. Her knowledge base was strong enough to expower adults in the room as well.”

“I learned so much and now know how to talk to my daughter”
- Participant

“She’s teaching me everything I need to know. She’s very easy to understand and good at explaining things. She’s a fun optimistic person and a great teacher”
-Grade 10 student

“Dee exceeded our expectations with the knowledge she delivered. She approached our challenging group with patience, humility, and understanding. She was exceptionally "human" in her approach and I'm not sure that any other educator could have had the positive impact that she did because of the type of open-minded and flexible educator that she is”
